Lighting Equipment | No Comments

High End Systems’ Debi Moen interviews Multiple Lighting Designers about how they are incorporating Digital Lighting in their shows. “Churches are finding out how useful this technology can be.” “I’d love to change lights with moving projections, that’s my goal now.”
Co/Founder and CTO Richard Belliveau-”With Digital Lighting you can emotionally move your audience …content is everything.” “One scene might be a Collage …another for lighting various set pieces in completely different positions.”
Debi interviews Zenith Lighting’s Chas Herington-”Digital Lighting really does bridge lighting and video so I think it opens up a lot of possibilities to designers”. “Bang for the buck…you know, who needs a gobo, man?..What’s not to ‘get’ here?
Debi interviews Lighting Designer Oli Metcalfe about using Digital Lighting on the Muse tour. “Digital Lighting and coordination…and it matters so much if a cue is bang.” “I didn’t have to talk to any video directors.”
A interview with Lighting Designer Mike Baldassari and Programmer Marty Postma about Digital Lighting on the Alice in Chains tour. “The amount of work that they (digital lights) do…having the camera on board…for three fixtures it’s unbelievable what comes out of them.”

Interview with Lighting Designer Jason Eible-”We got 12 SHOWGUNs on UFC…What a difference they have made to the show. They’re so bright, they’re awesome!”
Debi interviews Lighting Designer Jason Cain on the benefits of using High End Systems Digital Lighting in his corporate events. “You can make the DL.2s do other things but when it’s time to do a Collage, it falls into place so good it’s not even funny.”
Debi interviews Lighting Designer Bill Murray on how he uses Digital Lighting in his corporate event designs. “I spent two-thirds less time programming because of the Collage Generator (feature). It’s a huge time-saver.”
Debi interviews Lighting Designer Scott Chmielewski about how digital lighting is part of his “design tool box.”

Rosco-Gels & Coverings

Rosco-DMX Iris
Having complete control over the beam spread of your leko just got easier. The new Rosco DMX Iris is quiet, dependable, affordable, and a perfect complement to the I-Cue Intelligent Mirror. This 24 leaf motorized iris unit can be used with your ETC Source Four, Selecon Pacific or most other modern lekos. Unlike other iris units that have only 18 or fewer leaves in the aperture, the Rosco DMX Iris creates an even edged, perfectly round aperture all the way down to its smallest diameter. Using 1 channel of DMX512, the DMX Iris’s movement is smooth even along very slow cross fades. A microprocessor controlled stepper motor connects to the mechanical arm of the iris unit, replacing the unreliable noisy chain drive system found in other products. A manual knob lets you use the DMX Iris without DMX control just by dialing in the aperture size you want, just as you would a conventional iris unit. The Rosco DMX Iris requires a non-dim circuit and is auto-sensing from 100-240 volts for use anywhere in the world. No costly external PSU is needed.

I-Cue
The Rosco I-Cue Intelligent Mirror allows you to use your spotlights with much greater flexibility and control. The major function of the I-Cue is the ability to re-position the beam of light so a single spotlight in a fixed position can illuminate dozens of different locations.

The Rosco I-Cue has onboard DMX, which means that control and direction of the mirror — and the beam it reflects — is available through your lighting control system. The industry standard DMX protocol assures accurate and repeatable beam placement.
